Alan has represented a number of individuals in disputes with insurers. In 1998, Alan represented a client through the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the BC Court of Appeal and a successful appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada resulting in an award of over $1,000,000.

As well, he has settled numerous cases after mediation in his clients' favour.
