Mediation

Mediation is a process where the disputing parties appoint a mediator trained in the area of dispute resolution. A mediator does not impose a decision. The mediator facilitates the discussion to help the disputing parties arrive at a mutually agreed upon settlement. Mediation is often chosen when the ongoing relationship between the parties is important. Almost any kind of dispute can be resolved through mediation or arbitration with the good will of the people involved: contracts, construction, estates, personal injury, partnership issues, payment for goods and services.

Alan Farber has had exceptional success using alternative dispute resolution as part of his legal practice. Recently, for example, Alan has been counsel on mediated settlements on behalf of disinherited individuals for over 1.5 million dollars. Alan has also negotiated settlements in personal injury cases for a sum in excess of $3,000,000.

Felicia Folk offers her services as both a mediator and arbitrator, bringing her years of experience as trial counsel, as well as advising lawyers on dispute resolution, to Farber and Folk’s clients.
